Just got back from a long w/e here. It is a very nice site, 2 main fields and a smaller one for EHU. We booked in and were left to find our own pitch, which left us spoilt for choice as it was a thursday morning. We found a nice flat pitch, both fields are slightly sloping, and set up. Thursday was very nice and quiet friday pretty much the same. Disposable Bar-B-Q's and campfires ARE allowed here. Which brings us to saturday night. Both fields were very full by 6pm with more arriving till about 10pm. We arrived back from our day out to find someone was piched 2 feet from our tent. The campfire situation seemed to me to be a free for all as every other pich had a fire going. Some small some bigger. By 10:30 the 2 fields and the surrounding countryside were covered in smoke, that then made it clear why there were NO birds about. They knew about the fires and decided to nest elswhere. Music is also a bit of a problem on saturdays as most of the young 'uns had their car stereos blasting out the latest house sounds. BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM. The music stopped about 10:30 on friday but was still going at 1:30 on saturday. My missus went to the loo at around 1:30 and bumped into some very drunk men & women who were effing and blinding near the loos and trying to figure out where to get more booze from.
This could be a very nice site if the owner sorts out the loud music and the campfire situation.

Now the good bits...

£5 pppn
There is a snack van on site but wasn't open while we were there.
Brand new shower block, 3 male 3 female showers. Free but run on a push button thingy that lasts about 30 seconds a time.
Plenty of recyclig bins, all labelled but sadly not all used as there's also a skip which seems easier for people to chuck everything into instead of sorting it out.
There a couple of sinks for dishwashing with constant hot water.
Lovely views over the Peak District.
Nearby attractions are...
Heights of Abraham
Gullivers Kingdom
Carsington Reservoir
Chatsworth House
Haddon Hall
Dovedale
Lathkill Dale
High Peak and Tissington Trail
Crich Tramway Museum
National Stone Centre
Wirksworth Heritage Centre
Peak Rail Steam Trains
Caudwell's Mill
Red House Carriage Museum
Bakewell Pudding Shop
Ashbourne Gingerbread
Alton Towers is 45 minutes away

We would visit again but would definitely give it a miss on weekends.

Looks a nice quiet little spot, just how i like them, would have to be a mid week visit though if your report is typical
