Recently returned from a very enjoyable weekend at this campsite .

Facilities very good and clean , toilets , showers washbasins, hair dryers in the facilities block . Dishwashing sinks also .

Both some hardstanding and grass pitches to the rear of the site and looked to be kept in very good order .

We were on `the camping field next to the orchard without electric hook-up , and it was a lovely place to pitch . A stream running along one side .

There was no children's play equipment that we could see , but children being children , that did not stop ours making new friends and making thier own fun , with lots of space to do just that .

There is a village shop and pub within walking distance , and the shop had long opening hours which we found to be very handy . There was also a home-made chocolate shop in the village which went down well .

There looked to be a room which could be hired for rallies/groups called "The old cart shed " , with tables , chairs and kitchen area .

There looked to be plenty to see and do in the area , the information area was well stocked with leaflets for places to visit . We only left the site to visit the local shops for fresh provisions as we were attending a weekend event at the campsite .

All in all , a lovely campsite that we will most certainly return to when we are in that area

Highly reccommend

Hi Daisy. I know Camping magazine were charged £3 per person per night in the rally field.

I've just read that this site is the official testing site for Camping Magazine.
23rd-29th May:- Lanefoot Farm, Keswick. (Good but over-full)
27th-29th July:- Fieldhead Camp Site, Edale. (Good but not for us.)
3rd-7th August:- Studfold Farm, Lofthouse. (Wonderful.)
4th-5th September:- Mandale Farm, nr Bakewell. (Very good)
BUT THAT'S IT FOR THIS YEAR!!

It is indeed. Nearly all of the tents in the mag and indeed all the equipment is photographed there. Clive the Editor takes them. A nice chap, was talking to him this morning.

I have sent an e-mail about 2010 tariffs , with the view to maybe holding an NWC rally there next year . ........ awaiting reply .

It is indeed camping magazines official campsite , where they test tents . It was a camping magazine event we were attending there , and where we bumped into NWC's newest member , Martin
