Hi merlin
Yes I could certainly make that my home for a while, but I am afraid I would never get Val there. The one thing she insist on is a flush WC   She will not even use a thetford porta potty other than to go to wee at night
But for a group who really want to chill out with the birds and animals it sounds a dream to me.
Rex

I personally am liking the sounds of this and depending on how many others fancy it it could be part of a plan.

We could set Val up on a nearby site with anyone else who doesnt do roughing it and get stuck in what a great way to bond with your fellow campers...

must admit, the more I look over this place then the more I like it. with some planning it could be one hell of a camp.

your own lakeside area and the use, great walks. wildlife. campfires. forest etc. ok basic but the cost is little. looking at the site they offer a 3 day stay which could be a good idea for a trail run?

now off to look at toilets (er the kind they do at shows etc)

no Daisy, I wish! Mrs had a hip replacement done in Jan and then got a dvt spent a week in Hos.

but 2 months later she was back at work. but she needed the other hip replaced and this was done mid June, but sad to say she has complications and a thing called drop foot. the time on a recovery is speculative.

our play out time is in on hold.

That toilet looks like my mothers owd washing machine! maybe it washes as well eh ?haha,
We are off to gloucester this weekend to berkley castle, its a ,12 th century norman fortress, edward 11 was murdered here!!Its a medevil show, where rob can get into some rumbustious clinkin and clankin of swords.dressed from head to foot in armour. Its one of our favorite places, if you are anywhere near ,do pay us a visit ,its such a loveley place.
Next weekend we are off to kelmarsh hall in northumberland.to the festival of history show. This is another great show on our reanactment calander.Rob will be with the vikings, but there is reanactment of differant centuries at this show including world war one. iI love the old bi planes flying over,so if you like that sort of thing ,its another place to visit,if you are anywhere near.we will be going in the camper van with a new addition,a porta potti! its a little one we found, like new, at a car boot sale!! i hate those porta loos at shows. but at least with the law ,and heath and safefy, they have to be cleaned out daily!

Calm down Merlin, I was thinking about their comfort I love to "rough it" but I think some ladies were brought up too proper and cant stand to poo on sawdust.
Im sure Julie would be up for it anyway she is a bit rough lol xx

Seriously it would be fantastic if we could arrange something for a weekend just to try?

Hi all
Personally I think those composting toilets are first class no thunder as it hits the bottom, but seriously, they could be the answer to many campsites that are refused permission for a septic tank.

Chances are it will be next year now Sue, I am going to ring them and see about having the 3 days there to start with.

We need 10 MIN units to make it £15 per unit for the three days.
And may I suggest earlier in the year May / June to avoid the midges..lol

As you know where there is water there is midges....

So come on REALLY who is up for this TENTS ONLY NO EHU NO flush loo's and you MUST recycle.

i will start a thread in the meets section too
