Cabanon Guy line ajusters

Postby rexgrant on Thu Apr 30, 2009 1:20 pm

Hi all
The New to me Cabanon Pyramid 4,To day I have been given it a 100% check over. The tent is in very good condition,Most of the pegging out rubbers
were starting to show signs of deteriorating so I replaced them all with these.

The Isabella Isoflex they fit into the cabanon "D" rings and are in my opinion the best pegging out rubbers you can buy.
But my guy ropes were badly damaged with the sharp edges left on the aluminium guy rope adjusters, and this is after only a few uses. So I have had to replace all the guys with this product that I have used for the last two or three years on both tents and tarps
http://www.cleats.co.uk/home/details.asp?id=11 and also replaced those damaging adjusters with these the best ever made

The clam-Cleat line-Lok,
I have had damaged guy-lines in the past but I always put it down to were but this time 12 out of 17 were badly damaged 5 were still perfect, this is what made me check the cabanon line locks and found the Sharp edges.Come on CGI is your famous QC going down hill Remember the engineers drawing RSE.
Better still use the clamcleat lineloks.
These Cabanon Adjusters may have come from a bad batch, but I recommend all cabanon tent owners to check just in case you have also got adjusters with Sharp edges were the rope runs through.
Good luck
Rex.
Camping is a special way of life, with a special kind of person who can make friends, even with other campers we have never met.

My friends, may the wind be always at your back.

Hi Rex

Just read your post with interest, and will show this to Dave when he gets in later. We had noticed this on the Barbados last year. Do you remember ours failing in those strong gail force winds in Pembrokeshire - I must admit they were very strong, but thought the Barbados was up to it? After Cabanon repaired it (can't tell it has been repaired they have done such a good job), we took it later in the year up to Robin Hood's Bay for a week, it can get quite windy up there, but it was fine no probs. But those parts of sharp, we have noticed that.
